Apples Oranges Converters Adapters

Counting down, just a few more days!!!!!

We fly out of Seatac at 2:35 P.M. Wednesday afternoon and arrive in Venice at 11:30 A.M. on Thursday. If I did my math correctly, travel time will be about 13 hours. The weather looks to be sunny and chilly with daytime highs between 42-50*f . As Nancy pointed out, perfect for sunset pictures from the bridges.

Since this is my first trip abroad, I've had to plan for a few unfamiliar details. First, I exchanged U.S. Dollars into Euros at sell rate of 1.3903. My bank doesn't offer this service but I was able to take care of it at Kitsap Bank as long as I had an account there, which I didn't so it really pleased my daughter (the little banker/SALES person) when I opened one. We could do this in Italy but that's one less thing we have to do when we get there.

I didn't want to pull an Ashton Krutcher like in the movie "Just Married" and cause a blackout in the hotel, so I began researching plug adapters for my phone, camera and hair straightener. The voltage throughout Italy is 220 and it is 110 in the U.S. which requires a CONVERTER. The plug ins are also different and can vary from two to three prongs and require ADAPTERS. I ended up getting a new hair straightener with dual voltage and Nancy has an IPhone converter. A friend let me borrow her adapters so hopefully ALL will be well at Hotel Flora when I get settled.
