Snows the Limit!!!

Hats hats hats for those of you who know me....SNOW more hats.....well that's all I need to say!!!! Another extravaganza today!!

SNOW MORE HATS
SNOW MORE SCARVES
SNOW MORE TEE SHIRTS
SNOW MORE BEADS
SNOW MORE POTATO CHIPS FOR US
SNOW MORE SNOW!!!!!!
Burrrr wet and cold!

Today we traveled through the streets of Dorso Duro in the rain and huge snow flakes. If you're a Katherine Hepburn fan then you can appreciate the photos that accompany this posting. The shop window with the famous red goblet ( sadly no red goblet) is below along with a shot of the place where she fell into the water in the movie "Summertime".
Once again I stood speechless as I visited another church, the Santa Maria Glorioso dei Frari. Since we weren't allowed to photograph, I can only tell you that it was much different than San Marco but spectacular!!! The scale of the inside of the church was enormous and the marble sculptures, tall arched ceilings, carved wood benches and all the paintings were breathtaking. I've never seen anything like it in the U.S.!!

On our way to the church I passed by a ANOTHER hat shop, OMG!!! Those of you who really know me, you realize this is my weakness along with SHOES!! Yep...just sayin EXTRAVAGANZA??? I don't feel too bad since Nancy treated herself to a beautiful wool Italian hand knit sweater at some posh dress shop. Truly one of a kind!!

Enoteca Ai Artisti was was our lunch stop today. We met a very interesting Australian gentleman. He was enamored by the sudden snow fall because he'd never seen such a thing. Since we were sitting in the window of the restaurant, our front row seat it made it even more fun watching all the people stopping under the canopy of the cafe to snap pictures of the huge snow flakes. The Ausi (Stephen) invited us to help him pick a mask from the shop next door, so we agreed to help this "damn soul" in distress. He tagged along with us to the hotel and invited us for a gondola ride and dinner. We declined but felt kind of bad because he seemed like he was looking for company.

Back to lunch; the best of the best red wine and yummmmmm stuffed herb ravioli for me and gnocchi alla bolonese for Nancy, topped off with cappuccinos and creme brûlée!!!! It doesn't get any better than that!!!!!
